Doctor of Audiology
Dr. DiOrio received a B.A. in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology from St. John’s University in 1999, a Masters Degree in Audiology from CUNY Hunter College in 2003 and her doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from the University of Florida in 2005. She is Board Certified in Audiology by the American Board of Audiology (ABA), a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (FAAA) and an Affiliate Member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS). Dr. DiOrio is certified by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), and holds New York State licenses in Audiology and Hearing-Aid Dispensing.
Dr. DiOrio is devoted to the promotion and further development of the hearing healthcare needs of children and adults. Most recently, Dr. DiOrio joined ASHA and the People to People Organization, as an Ambassador in audiology for the United States, on a trip across China dedicated to helping establish and further develop hearing healthcare programs in the country. Dr. DiOrio is also highly committed to giving back to her city. She is currently on the Board of Directors of the Hamilton Madison House, a voluntary, non-profit settlement house dedicated to improving the quality of life of its community, primarily those in the Two Bridges/Chinatown area of Manhattan's Lower East Side. The neighborhood is a federally designated poverty area, with a constantly changing mixture of ethnic groups, and lack of adequate services and resources.
